2013 Highlights
The year 2013 was very eventful for the Organising Committee, with three test events organised in August (Endurance, Driving and Eventing), tickets going on sale to the general public, the launch of the volunteers' program, a lot of construction work on the competition venues, the launch of the Territorial Project, new official sponsors, and more. Let's take a look at the highlights of the year 2013 !
5 February 2013 : French riders meet at the CNOSF (French Olympic Committee)
7 March 2013 : National Federations get to discover the competition venues of the city of Caen
10 April 2013 : D-500 before the Games start !
10 April 2013 : The Organising starts reruiting 3,000 volunteers
June 2013 : Start of the Games Road Tour (15 events and nearly 100 days on the road)
6 June 2013 : Tickets go on sale
6 June 2013 : The Games' official poster is unveiled !
July 2013 : The first phase of the territorial project is launched
July 2013 : The accomodation platform opens on the ticketing website
July 2013 : The Entertainment project "Around the World in 80 Horses" is launched
July 2013 : Inauguration of the new Cross-Country course at Le Pin National Stud
16 – 25 August 2013 : Endurance, Eventing and Driving test events in Sartilly, Le Pin National Stud and the Prairie Racecourse of Caen
23 August 2013 : D-365 : Only 1 year beofre the event starts !
26-29 September 2013 : The Organising Committee promotes the Games at the CSIO Barcelona
12 November 2013 : Start of the Volunteers' Interviews
15 November 2013 : Launch of the event's new website
18 November 2013 : Passes (tickets to multiple events) go on sale for everybody
30 November – 8 December 2013 : Promotion of the 2014 Games at the famous "Paris Horse Fair" (Salon du Cheval de Paris)
3 December 2013 : The entertainment programme is unveiled & tickets to the opening ceremony go on sale
