What does the schedule look like for the French riders until the final selections are announced?

All competitions matter, because if any of the riders receive a score of 75%, they will certainly attract attention. We’ll be watching two horses at Vierzon: Riwera de Hus with Jessica Michel, and Nobel Dream*Concept Sol with Marc Boblet. Also the same weekend, Alexandre Ayache and Lights of Londonderry, Ludovic Henry and After You, Bertrand Liegard and Star Wars, and possibly Anne-Sophie Serre and Rossini, will be at the Fritzens-Schindlhof CDI. Amorak, ridden by Stéphanie Brieussel, will compete at either Vierzon or Deauville. During that first weekend of July, we’ll have nearly all the horses competing, so it will be interesting to analyse their progress. Then, there will be Deauville. Since the final selection date is after Deauville, we'll have until the end of that competition to make our choices.

Are riders who aren’t part of the Groupe JO/JEM (Olympic Games/World Equestrian Games) – such as Alizée Froment –automatically out of the running?

No, horses that aren’t in the Groupe JO/JEM can still be chosen. The group was created to help riders. It gives them special consideration in training, for example. It’s assistance, recognition during the year to help in their preparation. Say that a horse like Totilas comes in tomorrow with 82% – we’re not going to say he can't be chosen because he's not in the group, even if he doesn't have enough results to join.

Have any horses already been short-listed?

There are two horses that definitely stand out: Noble Dream, if she comes through, and Robinson de Lafont, who is looking very consistent, at 69% to 70%.
