Malory Legardinier, alias Malo’, is only 20 years old and already boasts an impressive musical career.
A native of Caen, where very early on he learned to play music, he recorded his first songs in Australia in 2011. Having gone Down Under to meet a mother that he had never really known, there he completed his first album, “The Old Way”, for which he took on all roles (songwriter, musician, arranger and mixer). The essential elements of his music were already there: beautiful and fragile songs, magical and unique atmosphere, outstanding voice.
During his stay, Malo’ met John Stone, father of Angus & Julia, whom he accompanied on his tour of Tasmania with the “Barrenjoey Band” symphony orchestra. With his own group, he then embarked on a tour that took in the prestigious “The Basement” concert hall in Sydney and the Northern Beaches 2012 festival, where he came first, beating around a hundred Australian groups. In early 2013, Malo’ returned to France and wrote the songs for his second album, "Be / Etre", which is due to be released this year.
Just like the artist, Malo's writing is unusual; it has a real poetic quality which, when blended with pop or folk melodies, brings a breath of fresh air to the young French music scene.
