The Organising Committee has been mandated by the GIP JEM Normandy 2014 to undertake four main areas of responsibility:
- FINANCING: Public funding, private funding (partnerships, ticketing, licenses)
- PROMOTING: Communication, media relations, advertising, campaigns, side event activities, support projects.
- SUPERVISING: Competitions, site design & layout, security & safety procedures, transport, public services.
- MANAGING: Budget setting and monitoring, project management, human resources management.
This Organising Committee is in charge of the key areas of operational strategy. The team, which will be made up of over 100 people and 3,000 volunteers by 2014, is headed up by Fabien Grobon, who was the Managing Director for Marketing and Licensing for Roland Garros, the French Open.
The Sport management team, led by Laurent Cellier, organizes all the many different aspects of each competition; right down to the medal ceremonies. The team works closely with everyone on the Organising Committee and particularly with those responsible for logistics and layout design/facilities. It is the main contact for the FEI and national federations who will participate to the event.
