The Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games™ 2014 in Normandy will be a great international sporting competition, but it will first and foremost be a fantastic event ! Like in any event, food will play a key part, and who better than the French can make your mouth water and your estomac happy?

ALL TYPES OF FOOD TO PLEASE THE ENTIRE WORLD

Four main types of restaurants will be available to the general public : restaurants, bars, refreshment stands, and food trucks. These spaces will be available in the Games Village, and in four competition venues : Caen’s d’Ornano Stadium (Jumping and Dressage) the Prairie Racecourse of Caen (Driving, Para-Dressage) Le Pin National Stud (Eventing’s dressage and cross-country), and Sartilly in the Bay of Mont St Michel (Endurance).

Games Village :

  • 5 restaurants (300m²)

Focus on other venues:

  • Caen’s Prairie Racecourse: 1 refreshment stand / 7 food trucks
  • D'Ornano stadium: 12 refreshment stands
  • Sartilly : 4 food trucks
  • Le Pin National Stud: 16 food trucks

Restaurants

The Games Village will comprise a total of five restaurants offering different cuisines :

  • A restaurant dedicated to regional cuisine
  • A "bistro" restaurant with high-quality local products
  • An American Diner restaurant / steakhouse to highlight western riding
  • A restaurant “Magic Mirrors”, to dive into the circus world
  • A restaurant with varied dishes to share

A restaurant will also be available at the Prairie racecourse. In the morning, hot and cold drinks, pastries, pancakes, omelets, bacon, eggs etc. will be available. At noon, hot and cold dishes, toasted sandwiches, tarts, burgers, lasagna, salads, bagels, sandwiches will be served.

Bars

Four bars will be available within the Games Village :

  • A cider bar
  • A beer bar called the "Kentucky Bar"
  • An oyster bar
  • A tapas bar with local products

Take Away

To ensure diversity, and to please the spectators who do not miss want to miss a second of the competition, the food available for take-away will be very broad with sandwiches, burgers, pizzas, fish & chips. For the sweet tooth, a very large bakery (150m ²) offering french bred, croissants and more will also be fully for the occasion !

If you want to experience the "Normandy Fair" and immerse yourself within the local culture, do not worry : you will get to discover the amateur local and organic products in the restaurant « Goûts d’ici et d’ailleurs » (=“Tastes from here and elsewhere”)

Refreshment stands

If that was not enough for you, you will be happy to know that ten refreshment stands will be available throughout the Village, and in all the competition venues. These stands will serve multiple snacks : paninis, sandwiches, hot dogs etc …

You will also find a few sweet stands around the entertainment areas, with candy, sweets, pancakes, waffles, ice cream, and of course cotton candy !

Food Trucks

27 Food Trucks (catering trucks) will be available in Sartilly, Le Pin National Stud and the Prairie Racecourse. They will offer a range of takeaway varied like pizzas, burgers, fries, Norman products, fish & chips, sandwiches and pretzels.
