For the Games, the Organising Committee will make two free park & rides available to visitors, each with a capacity of 1500 vehicles. A free shuttle will take visitors between the car parks and competition venues (D’Ornano Stadium, Caen Exhibition Centre, Games Village and Prairie Racecourse).

The park & rides will be open from 8am to 11pm from 23 August to 7 September 2014 (closed on Monday, 1 September). Parking staff will be onsite during operating hours.

Please note: the Organising Committee is not responsible for any damage or theft that may occur in the park & rides. No cars or campervans are allowed overnight in the park & rides. The Organising Committee reserves the right to have any vehicle left towed.

Beaulieu Park & Ride

The Beaulieu Park & Ride is located 800m from D’Ornano Stadium and is a convenient location for spectators attending the Opening or Closing Ceremonies and the Jumping and Dressage events.

  • From the A84 motorway: Take Exit 48 – St Manvieu Norrey, then follow the signs for “P+R spectateurs Beaulieu”.
  • From the West and North ring road: Head towards Cherbourg and take Exit D14 – Carpiquet, then follow the signs for “P+R spectateurs Beaulieu”.

Presqu’île Park & Ride

The Presqu’île Park & Ride is perfect for spectators visiting the Games Village or attending events at the racecourse.

  • From the A13 and East ring road: Take the exit for Mondeville–ZI Caen Canal heading towards ZI Caen Canal, then follow the signs for “P+R spectateurs Presqu’île”.
  • From the North ring road: Head towards Ouistreham, then take the Colombelles exit and follow the signs for “P+R spectateurs Presqu’île”.

To avoid confusion, be sure to follow the temporary signs installed specifically for the Games on the access roads and near the venues.

Other Parking Options

Twisto Network Park & Rides

A total of 440 free spaces are available just outside the city and linked to the town centre by tram: Ifs / Jean Vilar Park & Ride (90 spaces) and Côte de Nacre Park & Ride (350 places).

Underground parking

There are 2329 spaces available in 7 underground car parks. The Républic, Hôtel de Ville, Paul Doumer and Château car parks are open 24/7.

Parking in Caen centre

Caen has 4525 metred spaces in the town centre: 1285 Red Zone spaces and 3240 Yellow Zone spaces. For more information about the different zones, go to http://caen.fr/deplacements/stationnement/plan-stationnement.

Free shuttles between venues

The Organising Committee has teamed up with Twisto to create a free shuttle network – called the “Arc Equestre” – for Games visitors to travel between the event venues, Games Village and Beaulieu and Presqu’île Park & Rides.

The shuttle network will be available from 23 August to 7 September (excluding 1 September) from 8am to 11pm, with shuttles approximately every 15 minutes.

Additional shuttles will be added when events and concert are scheduled to end.

Shuttles will stop at the SNCF–Rives de l’Orne train station and the town centre (Hippodrome stop).

 

Parkings – People with disabilities

Each Games venue site has parking available for people with disabilities.

  • D’Ornano Stadium: 18 spaces
  • Prairie Racecourse (Stade Nautique Car Park): 15 spaces
  • Games Village: 10 spaces

You must have a Games ticket and a European Disabled Parking Permit (Blue Badge) to access these car parks. Please note there are a limited number of spaces.

Parking staff will be available onsite at each of these car parks to assist disabled visitors.

Bike Parkings

Each competition venue has bicycle parking. Biking is the easiest way to get around and to park close to the venues.
